A Princess Story: Vanessa

Once upon a time there lived a princess named Vanessa who lived in a beautiful castle in a magical kingdom far away. She wanted a royal birthday bash and wanted to invite all of the kings and all of the queens to come and celebrate her 3rd birthday in her magnificent palace. Princess Vanessa had three wishes for her 3rd birthday. Her first wish was for a crown encrusted with the brightest diamonds. Her second wish was for a pair of the shiniest glass slippers and her third wish was to have the fairest princess of all come to her birthday bash – Cinderella. The king and the queen loved their little princess so much, they decided to surprise the princess and granted her all three wishes and more! Princess Vanessa was in the presence of all of her princess friends who came showering her with splendid gifts. It was wonderful! Among all the kings and all the queens, there was Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Ariel, Jasmine and many others! The royal birthday celebration was grand and it couldn’t have been any better than it was for a princess who turned three!

A Baby Shower for Anne

There’s just something about a baby shower that is sweet, especially when it involves a baby girl and Sprinkles Cupcakes! I arrived a little after noon in Alhambra for a baby shower in honor of Anne, thrown by close friend and fabulous hostess, Vesna! You see…it wasn’t just an ordinary baby shower! Nu-uh! It was more of a mini-wedding if you asked me! The décor was ultra chic and ultra mod with an ultra trendy color scheme: browns and pinks! I absolutely love fresh flowers and it’s always a great way to anti up the decor and the atmosphere of the party. Vesna opted for fresh orchids to tie into the theme. They were everywhere and it definitely kept the feel of the party fun and fresh! It was evident that no detail was too small to overlook – from the flowers to the food – and let me say that the amount of food was no joke! It was the buffet of all buffets and trust me when I say that I wanted to slap the dumplings & shishkabobs onto a collage just to show how much food there was! I’d like to thank Vesna for allowing me to capture Anne’s special day! It was indeed, a very sweet and special shower! Congratulations to both Anne and David who will soon welcome a baby girl into the world!

Anne and Vesna…

Match up celebrity moms to their celebrity babies…
The teddy bear was a signature touch to key pieces like the invitations and the cupcakes! It reminds me of the Baby Gap logo and what mom doesn’t love Baby Gap?!
Guests were given plain bibs and markers to decorate for mom-to-be! Such a great idea and what a great way to create such memorable and fun keepsakes!

Shari's 6th Halloween Birthday Bash

I couldn’t stop smiling when I saw Shari in her princess ensemble with her hair did and her lips glossed. Yes, her lips were glossed. In bubblegum pink like the kind I always had in my back pocket when I was twelve. Yes, twelve. I wish I were as cool as Shari to have worn my strawberry Lip Smacker lip-gloss at six. YES, I said SIX! Shari’s 6th Birthday was a magical Halloween Birthday Bash with play tents, blow up ghouls, goblins & jack-o-lanterns, trunks of costumes and dress-up clothes and a not-so-scary witch to brew up some magic and tell some wicked stories! Princess Shari was graced by the presence of many cool guests in costume like Mulan and Indiana Jones who brought back the spirit of Halloween even after we took Halloween to its’ grave two days ago! What a great way to celebrate a birthday! Happy 6th Birthday, Shari!

Derrick Landon: 1st Birthday

We had the privilege of attending Derrick Landon’s very 1st birthday party on Saturday and it was a hit! Mya could not wait for Baby Derrick’s Blue’s Clues birthday party so she was definitely a happy partygoer! There were a large number of guests and they were all in attendance because of one very special boy: Derrick Landon! The party was complete with yummy snow cones, a fabulous face painter and cool favors for everyone to take home including a personalized souvenir cup for the lil’ guests! It couldn’t have turned out any better! Thank you guys for an awesome time!

Avery ended up with a puffy lip after the run-in she had with Mya in the bouncer, but being the tough cookie that she is, she bounced right back and headed right back into that bouncer!

There was just something captivating about these two girls! They were just GORGEOUS in their matching dresses!!!

Another gorgeous lil’ man who will sure to break many hearts in the near future…
This boy was hilarious! Very charismatic to say the least but boyyy did he crack me up!
Birthday boy hansome as can be! We have a model in the making ’cause he’s got the “stare” down, boy! Watch out ladies!!!
DL’s cute lil’ cousin who lit up the camera. Need I say more? :)
Mom and Dad hired a fantabulous face painter who was also a friend of the family, Eugene, who is uber talented! Check out his art…
“Hey doll…how ya doing? What brings you here?”
“Are you the real thing???”
“Let’s dance, dollface…”
“Ooh. I think I love you. Yo, Ma! Can I keep her?”
“Don’t leave me. Please…please! I’m beggin’ ya! Call me! ‘Kay?!”

Avery's 2nd Birthday

Some things were meant to be together – kinda like t-shirt & jeans, peanut butter & jelly, love & happiness and nothing comes close to love & happiness than zebra & hot pink…well…for me at least! This past weekend, we celebrated Avery’s 2nd Birthday in all “chicness” and I have to say it wasn’t so shabby! This milestone was a special one for Avery who is near and dear to my heart and because she sits so closely to my heart, it was only natural for me to have a hand in the party. I had to do something…at least one thing….okay, okay…a few things! It’s really becoming an obsession – kinda like plopping your finger into a birthday cake to get a lick of icing. It’s just that satisfying. :) I always seem get in over my head and bite off more than I could chew, so in true Navy fashion I made the invitations and Avery’s birthday outfit complete with Chucks encrusted with bling and pink ribbon laces to match!

Avery’s actual birthday was on Thursday, so we took the girls out to Adventure City for a pre-birthday celebration. I couldn’t help but to put the girls in these empty phone booths when I saw them. Call me crazy, but I luv it! :)

Kiara Renee: Showered

February 23rd, 2008 was marked by the long awaited Jordyn Renee! Showered~she was, with family and friends who came pouring in one by one. Believe me, this puddle was not one to be reckoned with! The shower was all things “Jordyn Renee” from the decorations to the favors and down to the water bottles. I was heavily involved in this day and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome! This was well planned and well executed by our team of contributers and it couldn’t be possible without the help of the people involved! In co-planning this event with Shelia, we thank Ebony, Jessica, Brandi, Davonne, Michael, Mykail, Patty, and all who have lent their hands to make this day an amazing one! We wish only the best for Kiara and her journey with motherhood. May this amazing event be the prequel to the life of Jordyn Renee!

Here is mama-to-be who is still fly and flawless just before the party. All images were shot with the 24-70mm 2.8 lens. This was a rental from Bill’s Camera in Huntington Beach. I had rented the 50mm 1.4 lens from here before for a Christmas shoot and was happy with the service. The good thing about renting on a Friday is the amount of time that you get to have the lens for. $40 was not bad for having the lens for the weekend.

Lollipop favors! Yay!!! I absolutely love these lollipop favors! I made these from pink, brown & beige washcloths and we incorporated them into the centerpieces on the tables! Ughhh…too cute!

“Jordyn Renee” water??? You guessed it! Hey…maybe she’ll get her own Vitamin Water one day!

I love the kids!!! (Can you tell?!?)
