Yearly Archives: 2008

Mya Monday

As 2008 closes in, I can’t help but to reminisce and savor in the memories that made this year a bit special. I’m quite the optimist. I really am! But – I really wish I did have a chance to finish that project that I started on. That would have been something to talk about. What about that dress that I envisioned and wanted to make? That could have been great for pictures. Hmm. You know, we still have that gingerbread house that we still need to put together. That should have been done on Christmas Eve. Gosh. Did I mention that I’m also the pessimist? I accomplished a lot this past year and as I compile my list of deeds for 2008, I start to wonder how I was successful at the things that I accomplished and then I remembered how hard I am on myself and how I approach life – with great ambition. I’m the I-wanna-go-all-out-and-if-I-don’t-then-I-don’t-wanna-do-it type of person, so most of the time I do bite off more than I can chew… and… I’m still chewing. I love Everlasting Gobstoppers! ; )

I’m grateful for my accomplishments this past year and for the never-ending list of things that I didn’t get to ~ I am saving for 2009. So with my right hand up-palm out, I vow to finish that photo book project…I vow to complete that dress for Mya and I vow to make time for us on Christmas Eve next year so that we can put that gingerbread house together!

I’d like to close out 2008 by sharing with you my favorite memories of Miss Mya! Happy New Year!

The Alveran Family

The Alveran Family called and I obliged capturing all of their greatness and needless to say their gorgeousness! My job is easy when good looking people grace it and this family was no exception! Mom and Dad, thank you for welcoming me into your home…showing me your family photos…and sharing with me the stories behind the photos. Great hospitality is always appreciated! :)

A Baby Shower for Anne

There’s just something about a baby shower that is sweet, especially when it involves a baby girl and Sprinkles Cupcakes! I arrived a little after noon in Alhambra for a baby shower in honor of Anne, thrown by close friend and fabulous hostess, Vesna! You see…it wasn’t just an ordinary baby shower! Nu-uh! It was more of a mini-wedding if you asked me! The décor was ultra chic and ultra mod with an ultra trendy color scheme: browns and pinks! I absolutely love fresh flowers and it’s always a great way to anti up the decor and the atmosphere of the party. Vesna opted for fresh orchids to tie into the theme. They were everywhere and it definitely kept the feel of the party fun and fresh! It was evident that no detail was too small to overlook – from the flowers to the food – and let me say that the amount of food was no joke! It was the buffet of all buffets and trust me when I say that I wanted to slap the dumplings & shishkabobs onto a collage just to show how much food there was! I’d like to thank Vesna for allowing me to capture Anne’s special day! It was indeed, a very sweet and special shower! Congratulations to both Anne and David who will soon welcome a baby girl into the world!

Anne and Vesna…

Match up celebrity moms to their celebrity babies…
The teddy bear was a signature touch to key pieces like the invitations and the cupcakes! It reminds me of the Baby Gap logo and what mom doesn’t love Baby Gap?!
Guests were given plain bibs and markers to decorate for mom-to-be! Such a great idea and what a great way to create such memorable and fun keepsakes!

Derrick Landon: A Peacoat & A Pom-Pom Hat

The holiday season means just that…a peacoat & a pom-pom hat! This crispy cold air is an excuse, a good enough excuse ~ to put on that stylish coat and that fresh hat! Derrick Landon rocked it out in this mini-session and even though we were racing against the sun, we managed to get more than a few good shots in! There’s no excuse for a bad shot when you have a cute tot in a peacoat & a pom-pom hat!

Gezal, thank you for a great time over tongue-slappin’ barbeque and toastin’ to the good life with mouth waterin’ margaritas! ; ) I love good times!

Shari's 6th Halloween Birthday Bash

I couldn’t stop smiling when I saw Shari in her princess ensemble with her hair did and her lips glossed. Yes, her lips were glossed. In bubblegum pink like the kind I always had in my back pocket when I was twelve. Yes, twelve. I wish I were as cool as Shari to have worn my strawberry Lip Smacker lip-gloss at six. YES, I said SIX! Shari’s 6th Birthday was a magical Halloween Birthday Bash with play tents, blow up ghouls, goblins & jack-o-lanterns, trunks of costumes and dress-up clothes and a not-so-scary witch to brew up some magic and tell some wicked stories! Princess Shari was graced by the presence of many cool guests in costume like Mulan and Indiana Jones who brought back the spirit of Halloween even after we took Halloween to its’ grave two days ago! What a great way to celebrate a birthday! Happy 6th Birthday, Shari!
