13 Going on 30

“How do you feel?”  I wasn’t sure how I was going to answer that question when the time came.  I can attest that it was scarier when I turned 29 just because I knew 30 was around the corner…and guess what?  I finally made my way around that corner!  “Soooo!  How do you feel?”, asked Tia.  I didn’t hesitate when I answered, “I feel renewed!  Kinda like starting over.  A new chapter in my life…you know?”  I’m only as old as I feel so that means I’m 13, baby! :P   No ugly wrinkles and no stubborn grays, so I cannot complain.  Not even a little bit!  And when that day comes, I’ll be seeking Dr. 90210 and Miss Clairol!

I spent my birthday weekend in Big Bear with close family and friends.  It was a fun packed weekend as we came back to my birthday dinner at Babouch – a  Moroccan themed restaurant in San Pedro.  It was such a unique dining experience with dishes such as rabbit, lamb and the interesting chicken pie that was oddly good with it’s sweet and savory flavors.  There was also a belly dancer and a tarot card reader to keep us all enticed!  Fabulous photographer and friend, Ashley Rose came through to capture my big night and and captured it flawlessly!  Thank you, Ashley for being fabulous and thank you family and friends for coming out and sharing this special day with me.  I am grateful and I can honestly say that I wouldn’t be the person that I am today, right now, right here, at this very moment – without you all and that’s the truth!  You all make me one happy 13 year old!

Sneak Peak: Jasmine

Man.  I can’t wait to post the rest of this session!  Here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come.  Isn’t she just fabulously fabulous?  The world ain’t ready for this girl…

Mya Monday

We were due for a snow day and a Big Bear trip was much needed.  We’ve procrastinated, procrastinated and procrastinated but we knew we wanted to catch the last bit of snow before it was gone.  Although we weren’t sure if there were going to be any snow left in March, we planned it in advance anyway!  Thanks to global warming :P, the weather has been drastic bringing just a few more snow storms to save our much anticipated snow day!  The trip was swell besides the drive to and from the narrow, steep and windy roads!  Mya did great up until our trip back when the nausea kicked in! Needless to say, she threw up!  I’ll spare you the details with these images of our snow bunny…

Exposed: Tina Louise

I met up with Tina of Tina Louise Photography for a light and casual session in the trails of Los Angeles.  We hiked, huffed and puffed our way up Mulholland Drive, spoke of all things photography and bared our souls in front of our cameras.  Yes, I would say we felt exposed.  Maybe a little overexposed! :P   Photographers are meant to stay behind the camera and not in front of the camera, but today we did both!  Tina is a delight and if I ever had a match for a soul sister, Tina would be it!  Why?  Simply because we share the same birthday!  I think that’s a good enough reason! :)
